A veteran in food and agriculture, Michele sits at the intersection where innovative technology and big vision meet market demand and revenue. An expert in commercialization strategies, Michele has done it all, from standing up startups and creating the commercialization engine that will scale, to driving cross-functional team alignment and crafting winning business models for enterprises. Prior to Elo, Michele served in a range of executive roles at Motif FoodWorks, DuPont, Solae, and Nestle.

Throughout his career, Alan has pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in synthetic biology. Now he is tackling the next frontier: plants. Alan leads Elo’s R&D efforts to reimagine the future of food. This includes the development of Elo’s next-generation ingredients through molecular farming, as well as the company’s efforts to protect staple crops from the effects of climate change and disease. Alan brings more than 30 years of synthetic biology expertise and R&D leadership across startups and multinationals.

Passionate about sustainability, Matt is an award-winning storyteller who brings more than 25 years of experience with leading technology, media, consumer, food- and bio-tech companies. At Elo, he leads efforts to raise the company’s visibility and engagement with key audiences, from customers to employees and investors. This includes public relations and marketing communications, internal culture initiatives, and government and stakeholder affairs. Matt’s held senior roles at Motif FoodWorks, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Workday and Juniper Networks.

SVP, Global Manufacturing, Operations and Regulatory

Chloe brings to Elo more than 20 years of experience leading agriculture and food teams across the globe. As head of Elo’s global manufacturing, operations and regulatory teams, she is responsible for developing the agricultural supply chains to produce Elo’s innovative food ingredients, ensuring regulatory approvals as well as leading operational excellence. Prior to Elo, Chloe was director of Product Development and Sustainability at Calyxt. She also has held regulatory leadership positions with Genective, Pioneer-DuPont and Monsanto.

VP, Product Development

Matt DiLeo tackles big, audacious problems through the power of science and genetics in the agriculture and biotech industries. At Elo, Matt leads R&D teams responsible for the production, validation and pre-commercial development of novel ingredients. This includes event creation through field trials, crop production and ingredient formulation. With his team, Matt is working on making our favorite foods healthier and more sustainable without losing the flavor or experience that makes them so delicious.

She is currently a non-executive director with Univar Solutions, and previously was the CEO of Johnson Matthey Clean Air and held executive positions with Tate & Lyle’s Specialty Food Ingredients business, Dow Chemical, and The Rohm and Haas Company.

Kiersten is a Managing Partner at DCVC Bio, where she focuses on investing in life science companies that have a deep-tech advantage, principally in therapeutics, agriculture and synthetic biology. At DCVC Bio, Kiersten works with entrepreneurs to help them launch their businesses at the foundational stage as well as leading first institutional rounds of funding.

Zanna is a board director and advisor in the bio economy, serving organizations with transformative technologies to better the world in which we live in today. She’s a senior executive with proven entrepreneurial leadership and success in commercializing innovation, including with Cargill, the International Stevia Council, Avantium and Manus Bio.

Dr. Simon D. Waddington

Simon is a serial entrepreneur who currently serves as CEO of Cambium Biomaterials. Previously, Simon served as the CEO of Evolva and Abunda Nutrition, and in executive roles with PolyTechnos Venture-Partners and Monsanto.
